Pasta From Family-Owned Minnesota Spot Now Ranks With Best In America
In 2011, the U.S. National Pasta Association (NPA) declared October to be National Pasta Month, aiming to inspire people to appreciate popular comfort food while enjoying it throughout the month in a variety of ways.
While it's cool to have a month to celebrate pasta, including National Pasta Day on October 17th and World Pasta Day on October 25th, I don't think they needed to twist too many people's arms to get them to enjoy it.
Pasta is extremely popular in the United States, with statistics showing that it's consumed by nearly all households (around 96%) and 86% of people weekly. All told, Americans consume about 20 pounds of pasta per person annually, placing the U.S. sixth in the world for per capita consumption.
In honor of National Pasta Month, national food experts went on a quest to find the best bowl of pasta in every state in the United States, and while there will likely be friendly debates to follow, they have found the best in Minnesota.

Finding The Best Bowl Of Pasta In Every State
To find the best bowl of pasta in every state, the foodies at LoveFood analyzed and visited a variety of places, "from longstanding Italian trattorias to more modern restaurants putting their own spin on the classics."
They then made their selections based on genuine user reviews, awards, accolades, and the first-hand experience of their team. How fun would it be to have the job of eating the most amazing pasta dishes in the country?
The Best Bowl Of Pasta In Minnesota
In Minnesota, the best bowl of pasta was found on the menu at Broders' Pasta Bar, located at 5000 Penn Avenue S. in Minneapolis.
According to its website, Broders' Pasta Bar has been serving house-made and quality imported pastas and risottos since 1994, with a focus on both Italian regional traditions and seasonal, local ingredients.
They made every effort to source from Midwest farms, while also growing fresh vegetables on site when the weather allows.
The team at LoveFood noted the vast menu, which features nearly 30 pastas and risottos, but one dish not only stood out as the best at the restaurant, but they say it's the best in Minnesota.

The winning menu item is the 'Tagliarini Di Locanda Di Lupo', which deliciously combines egg yolk pasta, Prosciutto di Parma, and a light truffle cream sauce.
Broders' Pasta Bar is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The restaurant does not take reservations and serves on a first-come, first-served basis.
