You Won’t Believe The Size Of These Bears Captured On Cameras In Minnesota
I try to make it to Voyageur's National Park at least once a year. It's one of the nation's least visited National Parks, partly because you need a boat to really enjoy it.
The campsites on Voyaguer's are all boat-in sites. It's pretty remote, and you're bound to run into wildlife.
The Voyageur's Wolf Project has trail cameras set up throughout the park to monitor and study the wolf population. Occasionally they share some stunning videos of wolves. They also share compilations when they have other animals show up.

Hungry bears are getting fat for the winter hibernation, and you can see some really big ones that Voyageur's Wolf Project shared. The crazy thing is these bears were filmed in April and May, coming out of hibernation. They are even bigger now!
Interestingly enough, I was just up at Voyageur's in mid-September. We didn't see any bears, but there was a notice that several campsites and areas were closed for the rest of the year because of bear activity.
When you camp at Voyageur's, the sites have bear-proof food lockers you use. I bring bear spray with me every time we go, just in case. Fortunately with keeping our food locked away, and our trash either in a locker or hanging in a tree away from camp, we haven't had any problems.
I'd hate to get out of my tent in the middle of the night and see this guy standing there. I don't think I'd make it to the latrine.
Check out the video of all these bears. They are a lot cuter when they are on the screen and not right in front of you!
