New Juicy Lucy Festival Opening Soon At Valleyfair In Minnesota

I think by now that everyone in Minnesota knows what a Juicy Lucy is, but for those who have yet to have one, it's a cheeseburger with the cheese stuffed inside the patty, rather than on top.

It sounds simple enough, but this twist on the basic cheeseburger helps create a molten, cheesy center when cooked, making for a very juicy and flavorful burger.

Of course, once the Juicy Lucy was invented, several delicious variations of the burger have been created, which include a variety of cheeses used and what combination of additional ingredients that go on top.

This summer, a new Juicy Lucy Festival is ready to begin, which will allow people to try a variety of the Minnesota favorite, and it's being held at Minnesota's biggest amusement park.

New Juicy Lucy Festival Opening Soon At Valleyfair

Organizers reminded everyone this week that the first-ever Juicy Lucy Festival at Valleyfair will start soon, paying homage to Minnesota's iconic cheese-filled classic.

The Juicy Lucy Festival at Valleyfair will take place for two consecutive weekends. The first takes place on Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13. Then, it will happen again the next weekend, on July 19 and 20.

Highlights of the Juicy Lucy Festival menu include:

Classic Lucy: A can’t-go-wrong classic; grilled hamburger patty filled with American cheese and topped with fried onions, served on a slider bun.
Minnesota Sushi Lucy: A Minnesotan, big-dill special; grilled hamburger patty packed with cream cheese, topped with dill pickles and bacon, and finished with a buttermilk dill ranch, served on a slider bun.
Sophie’s Lucy: For pretzel fans and cheese connoisseurs; grilled hamburger patty stuffed with American cheese, topped with fried onions and smothered in beer cheese, served on a pretzel slider bun.
One Swine Lucy: Spicy, sweet, and saucy; grilled hamburger patty stuffed with ghost pepper cheese, topped with bacon jam and onion straws, finished with an ale BBQ sauce, served on a slider bun.
Creamy Cheesy Cherry Lucy: A creamy, cheer-inducing option; grilled hamburger patty jammed full of cream cheese and topped with cherry chutney, served on a slider bun
Miss Lucy Jo: A seriously spicy selection; grilled hamburger patty filled with ghost pepper cheese, topped with fresh jalapenos and even more ghost pepper cheese, finished with our sriracha sauce, served on a slider bun.

In addition to the Juicy Lucy options, organizers say attendees can also enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, including a vibrant chalkboard mural, oversized Minnesota state puzzle, street curling, and more.
