I recently spoke with a longtime friend of mine about how kids today don't play outside the way we did when we were growing up. I think it's mostly due to the technology that is available now that we could never have even dreamed of back when we were kids.

If you grew up in Wisconsin, didn't matter if it was winter, when you'd go out sliding and building snow forts for hours, or it was summer, when you'd ride our bikes, have water fights, and go on countless adventures; most kids were rarely just sitting around in the house staring at a screen.

I realize that I sound like I'm 200 years old, but I bet you agree that growing up without all the technology was a lot a fun, and not only did it make us creative, but we also got a lot of exercise and quality time with friends.

When it comes to summer, my earliest memories involve playing with Tonka trucks, Star Wars action figures, and riding my Big Wheel with the brake handle that allowed for awesome spin-outs.
