Long-Time Northern Minnesota TV Personality Announces Depature
A familiar face in TV news in the Northland just announced they will be leaving for a new career.
Briggs LeSavage has been a fixture on television sets across Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin, starting her career with WDIO after growing up as a Duluthian and attending Duluth East High School.
In 2016, Briggs joined the team at what was then known as the Northland's News Center (KBJR 6 and CBS 3) as a reporter, producer, and co-anchor for some of their newscasts.
She became the newsroom's managing editor and co-anchor of the evening 5 pm newscast with Dan Wolfe in 2022 at what is now known as Northern News Now.

Along with her reporting and anchoring, Briggs has also been one of the fixtures on the local lifestyle show Northern Life, along with cohosts Ryan Haff and Hunter McCullough.
During Monday's edition of Northern Life, Briggs and co-host Haff shared that she would be leaving television for a new career path here in the Northland.
Briggs called the news "bittersweet", explaining that her last day on the air will be Friday, August 29, with some "behind-the-scenes stuff" on Labor Day before leaving for her new job.

LeSavage announced she will be departing for a job with St. Louis County, doing marketing and communications work for the county's public health department. While she says she's sad about departing her long-time TV home and career, she looks forward to the new, rewarding job opportunity.
In a social media post about her departure, Briggs shared her gratitude for the support of her coworkers and viewers over the years. She noted "The Northland has the kindest viewers and that’s been evident every step of the way and in every community I had the honor to visit."
Her coworker Dan Wolfe, commented on the departure, saying it will be sad to lose her, but "happy she’ll soon have a more family-friendly work schedule".
It sounds like the station has plans to do an on-air send-off of sorts on Friday, her last day on the air.
