WATCH: Adam Thielen’s Family Has Precious Reaction To News Vikings Are Bringing Him Back
If you think fans are excited about the news that Adam Thielen is once again a Minnesota Vikings player, wait until you see how his family reacted to the news!
As a fan myself, I've been watching as the Vikings seemed to be in a situation where they could use the help of a veteran wide receiver like Adam Thielen.
With Jordan Addison suspended for the first few weeks of the season, Jalen Nailor dealing with a hand injury, Rondale Moore out for the season from a knee injury, and Justin Jefferson on the mend from a hamstring injury, there was definitely a need for a veteran wide receiver to start the season.
Thielen's name had been floated out as a possible solution, though I found myself thinking it was just a cute idea that seemed more poetic to bring a Minnesota native back home rather than a potential reality.

It seemed more likely the Vikings would wait for cut day and pick up a free agent than to spend draft picks or other team assets to trade for Adam. It turns out I was wrong, and I'll admit I'm excited to see him back! Adam's family is WAY more excited, though!
Adam's wife, Caitlin, shared a couple of videos as Instagram stories that captured just how excited she and their daughter are about going back home to Minnesota.
The first video showed Caitlin crying in reaction to the news that Adam had just called to tell her, while their daughter had an excited look on her face while wearing a Minnesota Twins shirt.
A second video showed their daughter dancing while Adam chanted, "We're going home! We're going home!"
This spring, Adam had mentioned the 2025 season might be his last in the NFL before retiring. While he wasn't willing to commit one way or the other, the 35-year-old player seemed to be sensing he was getting toward the end of his playing career.
While Adam and his family probably saw no path back home to the Vikings for the end of his career back this spring, the situation the team finds itself in right now opened the door to a perfect ending to a magical career for a Detroit Lakes kid who got the chance to try out for his hometown team and make a real splash in the league.
Welcome back, Adam!
