Man Suspected of Shooting at Occupied Vehicle in Minnesota Arrested
Gilbert, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in northern Minnesota are reporting the arrest of a man suspected of shooting at an occupied vehicle.
Limited information is available, however a news release issued late Wednesday night by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting was reported around 1 a.m. on September 9. It happened in a mobile home park in Biwabik Township, which is about 60 miles north of Duluth.
The caller in the vehicle struck by gunfire reported that one of his vehicle’s windows had been shot out. Shortly after the shooting call dispatchers received another report from a man who stated a motorist had struck his parked vehicle.
The man told dispatchers that he shot at the vehicle with a shotgun. Authorities say the suspected shooter was subsequently taken into custody and has since been charged with several felony-level offenses.
No injuries were reported. The suspect’s name along with the location and date of his arrest have not been released.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting investigation is ongoing, however it’s believed to have been an isolated incident.
