In the early 2000s, I knew that if the "Hot Now" sign was on, you had zero excuses to get a fresh, Krispy Kreme doughnut. This was when they were the BEST. Unfortunately, that light has been dark in Minnesota since about 2008...but it is about to shine bright red again in the Land of 10,000 Lakes!

Famous Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Opening Up Once Again in Minnesota

Way back in 1937, a secret recipe was purchased from a New Orleans chef that was for a doughnut that was crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside. The doughnuts are yeast-raised, which helps give every bite a light, airy texture. You guessed it...these are the famous Krispy Kreme circles of joy!

Over 40 countries have had the pleasure of experiencing the taste of a Krispy Kreme doughnut. After years of feeling like we just weren't good enough for the brand, Minnesota is finally getting another Krispy Kreme shop.

According to the press release from Krispy Kreme, a new shop is opening up in the Land of 10,000 Lakes on November 12th.

At 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, Krispy Kreme will turn on the Hot Light™ and open the doors at its new shop in Fridley, right outside of Minneapolis, bringing iconic Original Glazed® doughnuts back to fans in the Twin Cities. - Krispy Kreme Press Release

Special Grand Opening Rewards For Lucky Krispy Kreme Guests At New Minnesota Store

Based on the report I read on the Krispy Kreme website, it sounds like during the grand opening week, a few lucky fans will be getting some great prizes.

"Krispy Kreme will randomly award 10 dozen lucky guests a free Celebration Ticket worth a dozen free Original Glazed doughnuts every month for a year."

What Are The Hours For The New Krispy Kreme Shop in Minnesota?

After opening day, they will be open Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm. Friday and Saturday, you can pick up fresh doughnuts from 6:00 am until 11:00 pm.
