Public Health Alert Issued For Item Sold At Aldi Stores Throughout The United States, Including Minnesota
The popular grocery store chain that is proud to help families save 36% on their grocery bills was just highlighted by USA Today due to a public health alert. Unfortunately, an item that was sold at Aldi stores throughout the United States, including in Minnesota, could be contaminated.
Based on information provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Services, a 16-oz. package of fully cooked pork carnitas could contain metal pieces. Here are a few details to know:
- Product Name: Pork Carnitas Seasoned & Seared Pork with Juices Slow Cooked with Citrus
- Date Produced: April 1st to April 2nd
- Use By Dates: June 30th, 2025 or July 1st, 2025
- Establishment Number: Est. 46049
- Reason for Public Health Alert: "equipment damage that may have contaminated the carnitas products" with metal material

Why Isn't There A Recall For This Item?
The product is no longer on store shelves and due to that factor, a recall has not been issued. Aldi customers should look through any products in their freezers to ensure that these were not purchased.
