If you are one of the 25% of Americans that shop at the discount grocery store, Aldi, you are probably going to want to check your freezer.  A "public health alert" has been issued for an item that was sold at the popular store due to the possibility that "foreign objects" could have tagged along.

Public Health Alert Issued For Item Sold At Aldi Stores Throughout The United States, Including Minnesota

The popular grocery store chain that is proud to help families save 36% on their grocery bills was just highlighted by USA Today due to a public health alert.  Unfortunately, an item that was sold at Aldi stores throughout the United States, including in Minnesota, could be contaminated.

Based on information provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Services, a 16-oz. package of fully cooked pork carnitas could contain metal pieces.  Here are a few details to know:

Why Isn't There A Recall For This Item?

The product is no longer on store shelves and due to that factor, a recall has not been issued.  Aldi customers should look through any products in their freezers to ensure that these were not purchased.
