A change has been made by Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota to their DEI Office. They cite 'recent national events' as a reason for the change.

The 'recent national events' that they're likely alluding to are the actions that have been taken by the Trump administration to do away with any diversity, equity, and inclusivity initiatives.

MPR asked spokesperson Andrea Kalmanovitz what was meant by recent national events and declined to elaborate any further.

Mayo Clinic has already made position changes, so those who used to hold EID titles now have Belonging titles. They've also updated their website to have the Office of Belonging.

What Does Mayo Clinic's Office of Belonging Stand For?

On the Office of Belonging's website, we can learn a bit more, and their goals and intentions seem to be pretty clear:

We embrace all people who come through our doors, whatever their race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, military service, faith, or culture. Success is only possible when we include diverse experiences, perspectives, thoughts and voices in everything we do.
