The public schools in Nicollet County are above average. It also landed 12th on the list of best counties for families in Minnesota and came in 16th for overall health.

8. Cook County

6. Carver County

Carver County is the 2nd best county in Minnesota for public schools, the 5th healthiest county, and the 6th best place for young professionals.

5. Dakota County
Overall Niche Grade: A+

Dakota County is the 3rd healthiest county in the state, and takes the 4th spot for both family life and outdoor fun.

4. Washington County

Washington County came in 2nd best for families and outdoor activities, plus the public schools are highly rated.

3. Ramsey County
Niche Overall Grade: A+

Ramsey County is ranked first in the best counties for Young Professionals in Minnesota and Most Diverse Counties in Minnesota, plus it was the 2nd healthiest county in the state.

2. Olmsted County

Ironically enough, home to the Med-City, but not the healthiest county in the state. Olmsted County was actually the 6th healthiest and the 3rd best place for young professionals.

Niche Overall Grade: A+

Hennepin County crushed it in several categories and is the county with the best public schools, it was named the best place in the state for families, and the healthiest county in all of Minnesota. It's the 3rd best for outdoor activities and the 4th most diverse county in the state.
