Target To Start Limiting The Number Of Guests Allowed In Store

Target is the latest major business to make changes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The chain announced new safety measures in a press release Thursday (April 2nd), detailing how they plan to operate until further notice. Here's what you can expect:

• Beginning Saturday, April 4th, Target will "actively monitor" and when necessary, limit the number of people allowed to shop in store. This will vary per store based on square footage.
• There will be a designated waiting area outside the store for those that want to get inside. The area will be marked with "social distancing markers" so those waiting can stay far enough apart. There will also be a team member who will assist guests outside.
• Team members will be provided with face masks and gloves at the start of every shift, along with Shipt shoppers who need to enter the store for work. Target will begin distributing the masks and gloves over the next two weeks.

Target stores nationwide already have certain measures in place to help ensure the safety of their customers including signage, floor decals and encouraging staff to follow proper hygiene protocol. Several stores are also now equipped with plexiglass partitions to act as a barrier between customers and staff at checkout.

Target is located in Duluth at 1902 Miller Trunk Highway.
