Save The Date For America’s Only Banana Suit Run
Yes, you heard that right. America only has one banana suit race and it is right here in Duluth. This is the first year of the race and you can really go bananas. (See what I did there?)
The race is not only one-of-a-kind but it is also the first year of this exciting new run in Duluth. It takes place on Saturday, June 7th.
It's also special because taking part helps raise money for charity. You get your own banana suit to race in - then comes the really fun part.
About two minutes into the race, they release 'The Gorilla' onto the course, who is really hungry for some bananas. If you can beat him to the finish line and make it through uneaten, you get a prize.

How To Register For The Race
Money raised will benefit a local food shelf in the area. Running isn't for everyone but this is for people of all levels and who doesn't want to run in a fun banana suit while being chased by a fake gorilla?

You can register online now via the official race website. Registration is about fifty bucks and there are only 1,000 spots, which are going quick. Make sure to sign up and don't wait if you want to take part.
What Runners Will Get For Running
Runners will get a four dollar beer token, along with bananas of course. Runners will also get a custom bin and a commemorative pin, in case you forget running in a banana suit. Every runner will also get a Banana Split!

If you beat the gorilla, who will remain anonymous, five dollars of your registration will benefit the local food bank I mentioned earlier! Then runners can take part in an after party, which will be well-earned!
You can register for a heftier fee leading up to the race. And the best part of all? That banana suit is yours so you never have to buy a Halloween costume again!
I can't wait to either take part or watch all the bananas running around town. This also might be the best way to train for Grandma's Marathon later in the month. Ha!
