The dictionary defines a snob as "one who blatantly imitates, fawningly admires, or vulgarly seeks association with those regarded as social superiors."

It goes on to say that a snob tends to avoid and ignore those they perceive as inferior while having offensive air superiority about themselves. That certainly sounds like a far cry from 'Minnesota Nice'.

However, despite Minnesota's jovial reputation, a recent study discovered Minnesota is far from a snob-free state and snobs tend to lurk where you least expect them to be. I was shocked to see this study discovered that a majority of the snobbiest places in Minnesota are small cities.

How Did They Determine Where The Snobbiest Cities Are In Minnesota?

Snobs can come in many variations such as wine snobs, coffee snobs, book snobs, tech snobs, etc. To determine where the snobbiest places are in Minnesota, the study measured what they deemed as 'snobby things'.

Of course, you need real data. You can't just call a place snobby because they made fun of your jeans shorts when you stopped for gas. Besides, I firmly believe that "jorts" are about to make a comeback.

The data they utilized was from Saturday Night Science as they looked at factors such as the number of expensive homes, high incomes, and overly educated populations by city in Minnesota.

They next analyzed 145 of the state’s most populous areas over 5,000 people, to come up with their ranking of the ten snobbiest places in Minnesota.
