What could be a better way to spend part of the 4th of July holiday weekend than to spend part of it taking in the awe-inspiring aerial spectacle of the Duluth Airshow?
Crowds of thousands gathered at the Duluth Airport over the weekend to enjoy a show that included high-flying stunts from pilots like Jon Melby and Erik Edgren, aerial demonstrations from locally-made Cirrus aircraft, and military demonstrations of all sorts.
From the U.S. Navy Leapfrogs and U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute teams to the Air Force's F-22 Raptor, Navy's F-35C flight demos, and the team aircraft demonstrations of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and headliners U.S. Navy Blue Angels, there was a lot to watch over the weekend.

Saturday morning's departing rain and early low cloud deck didn't keep crowds away as Duluth Airshow officials worked their magic to get in the day's performances for what ultimately turned out to be a great day to enjoy the event.
While Saturday was busy, Sunday was far busier, with a historic sellout crowd filling the grounds along the runway for a beautiful, sunny day. Sunday's event was the first sellout of the 25-year history of the Duluth Airshow, making the milestone anniversary for Minnesota's largest air show one for the record books.
