A popular Twin Ports area bakery is leveraging its legacy to expand its footprint to Minnesota's largest city.

Duluth's Best Bread, which has two locations in Duluth and one across the bridge in Superior, Wisconsin, recently announced they will be bringing their baked goods to the Twin Cities starting very soon.

In a social media post earlier this month, Duluth's Best Bread revealed they would be opening a grab-and-go market that will be open one day per week in a space that's owned by another Twin Ports area business expanding to the Twin Cities.

Mix Cosmetiques held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last month for their new Minneapolis location in the Lumber Exchange Building in on Hennepin Avenue in Downtown Minneapolis. Shortly after opening this new Twin Cities location, Duluth's Best Bread revealed they would be using some of this new Mix Cosmetiques space for their weekly market.

The owner of Duluth's Best Bread told the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal that he had always wanted to expand to the Twin Cities, but saw that as something happening 10-15 years into the future. The fact it is happening now was a surprise opportunity he couldn't pass up. He said when Mix Cosmetiques offered them some space, "We had to do it.”

Duluth's Best Bread explained that this new market will be open starting on October 13 on Tuesdays from 11 am until 6 pm, bringing their "greatest hits" to the Twin Cities. Those items include things like their cheese curd sourdough and cranberry wild rice sourdough, almond croissants, cinnamon rolls, pecan caramel rolls, chocolate croissants, and berry cheesecake danishes.

The bakery was sure to emphasize in the announcement that their three Twin Ports area locations aren't going anywhere. They said the same is true for Mix Cosmetiques and their shop in Superior.

The one-day-only Duluth's Best Bread market in Minneapolis will feature limited qualities of fresh-baked goods from their Twin Ports bakery space brought to the Twin Cities, so quantities are limited each Tuesday on items.

In addition, this space is purely grab-and-go, and will not include seating or coffee. Only a selection of their baked goods will be available.

This is exciting for another Twin Ports area business expanding to another location in the state! With Mix Cosmetiques and Duluth's Best Bread both making this recent move to grow, it's similar to the recent expansion of Skyline Social and Games in Hermantown, which opened an Apple Valley location this summer.
