So. Minn. Police Department Issues Warning To Area Juveniles

A Southern Minnesota Police Department has issued a warning to area youth, to abide by the city-enforced curfew or face citations. The Kenyon Police Department, located in Southern Minnesota, near Faribault, took to social media, to warn area parents and youth that breaking curfew could result in citations being issued to either the minor or the parent of a minor.

The social media post was made after the town police department was investigating graffiti, and tagging in the usually quiet small Minnesota town.

With the increase in juvenile contacts at night, the Kenyon Police Department would like to remind parents and kids the curfew in Kenyon is 11:00PM, for anyone under 17. See SECTION 910 - CURFEW, in the city's ordinances, for more details about the ordinance. The PD has and will continue to issue citations for this offense. If you are concerned about the PD issuing citations to minors, feel free to come to the PD and talk to me about it.

The post, which had nearly 200 likes, and multiple shares, seemed to have only positive comments below it.

The comments about vandalism and graffiti being made in the comments came from an earlier and since removed post from the police department soliciting help from the public in identifying who was behind the spray-painted vandalism and derogatory comments left on downtown businesses.

Personally, it's great to see small-town values on display, supported through community police like this.
