Eyota, MN (KROC-AM News)- Multiple law enforcement agencies took part in a search that resulted in the safe return of a missing southeast Minnesota teenager.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office published a post on its Facebook page asking for the community’s help with locating the missing juvenile over the weekend. 

The request for assistance was issued around 3 p.m. Saturday and said the missing boy was wearing shorts and socks and was not wearing a shirt. The request asked residents in the Eyota area to search their properties.

On Monday Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Parkin said deputies responded to the report of the missing 16-year-old boy at an Eyota residence around noon on Saturday.

He says deputies began searching the Eyota area for several hours. 

The sheriff’s office search effort also received aid in the search from neighboring law enforcement agencies and the State Patrol’s Ariel Support.

Authorities also deployed drones to help find the missing boy. 

Parkin said the teen was located safely. Authorities reported on Facebook that the teen was found safe around 6:30 Saturday evening. 

Details regarding where he was found and other information has not been released. Parkin said there is no concern for public safety at this time.
