Everything You Need to Know About Taste of Minnesota 2026

America turns 250 this year. A milestone like that calls for an epic celebration. I love the Fourth of July and already have a backyard BBQ planned, but there's another event I'm excited to check out that weekend.

If you love food trucks, live music, and fireworks, you’re going to want to clear your Fourth of July calendar. The Taste of Minnesota festival is July 3rd and 4th and is designed to showcase some of Minnesota's best foods and will feature great live music both days. 

What Is Taste of Minnesota?

The food and music festival, Taste of Minnesota, started in St. Paul in 1983 and was held annually up until 2010. After a long hiatus, it returned in 2023 and has drawn huge crowds over the last couple of years. Organizers are expecting a big turnout this year, too.

Taste of Minnesota Returning for July 4th Weekend

This two-day smorgasbord of food and fun celebrates everything we love about the North Star State. On Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th, Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis will be transformed into a giant street festival featuring incredible food vendors and local artists.

Music Lineup for Taste of Minnesota 2026

While past years featured national acts, the 2026 lineup is a 100% homegrown celebration of Minnesota music.

 Friday, July 3 (4 PM – 10 PM)

• 4:30 PM: Bad Bad Hats

• 6:00 PM: Dillinger Four

• 7:30 PM: POLIÇA

• Featuring DJ Sophia Eris

Saturday, July 4 (12 PM – 10 PM)

• 1:00 PM: Gully Boys

• 2:30 PM: NUR-D

• 4:00 PM: Dessa

• 5:45 PM: Ant

• 7:30 PM: Brother Ali

• Featuring DJ Sophia Eris

The Saturday performances lead directly into the "Red, White, and Boom!" fireworks display at 10:00 PM.

How to Get Your "Free Ticket"

Entrance to Taste of Minnesota is free! However, you are encouraged to claim a digital RSVP "ticket" to help organizers gauge attendance and ensure the food vendors are fully prepared for the crowd.

Taste Of Minnesota, Know Before You Go: New Rules

If you’re heading to the event, keep in mind there is a strict bag policy in place for 2026.

• Prohibited: Backpacks, coolers, briefcases, and any bags larger than a small clutch are not allowed.

• Exceptions: Medically necessary items and diaper bags are permitted but will be subject to inspection at designated entrances.
