Have You Stayed in Minnesota’s Best Bed and Breakfast?
If you love a good bed and breakfast, you already know the appeal. A cozy room, historic setting, not to mention waking up to breakfast you didn’t have to make yourself. Honestly, it’s the dream.
Maybe that’s why I’m such a sucker for B&Bs. Fun fact, we actually rented out an entire bed and breakfast for our destination wedding, and it was absolute perfection. Having everyone under one roof, waking up together, and starting the day with coffee and breakfast already handled? Cannot recommend more.

So when the Star Tribune dropped its list naming Minnesota’s Best Bed and Breakfast, I was all in.
But instead of jumping straight to the winner, let’s savor this a bit, because Minnesota has some truly incredible spots worth talking about first and definitely adding to your bucket list.
#3 Turning Waters Bed & Breakfast – Wabasha
This one is such a cool twist on the traditional B&B. It’s warm, welcoming, and beautifully restored, but the best part, a brewery on site. Sign me up!
Turning Waters Bed & Breakfast was built in 1902 and holds over a century of character, memories, and stories. Its five unique suites/rooms offer comfortable, cozy lodging accommodations and curated experiences that will make you want to stay forever.
#2 Gilbert Mansion Bed & Breakfast – Grand Rapids
Taking the runner-up spot is the Gilbert Mansion in Grand Rapids, and this one feels straight out of a storybook. The mansion is one-of-a-kind, elegant, and surrounded by the kind of scenery that makes northern Minnesota so special.
Their website says the home itself has remained virtually unchanged for more than a century! It’s the kind of place where you slow down without even trying. Sit on the porch. Take in the trees. Pretend for a moment you don’t have a to-do list waiting at home.
And the Best Bed & Breakfast in Minnesota Is…
According to the Star Tribune, that title goes to the Ann Bean Mansion Bed & Breakfast in Stillwater.

It’s walkable to shops, restaurants, and the river. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a girls’ weekend, or just a peaceful escape, this place checks every box.
Also, Stillwater is one of my absolute favorite spots in the state, so I'm most definitely putting this on the list for my next visit!
