The best part of waking up… might not be what’s in your cup. And yes, you probably already guessed which brand I’m hinting at. Spoiler: it made the cut on a new national list of the absolute worst coffee brands in America.

According to a recent 24/7 Wall St. breakdown, these are the coffees people say you should skip, and yep, a bunch of them are sitting on Minnesota store shelves right now.

As someone who’s up before the crack of dawn for the morning show, coffee is absolutely non-negotiable. And full disclosure: I’m currently sipping one of the brands on this list - oops.

Is it my favorite? No. Do I hate it? Also no. Is it free? Yes, and that usually cancels out complaints. But after seeing it land on the “worst” list… maybe I should be complaining.

Even though some national brands at grocery stores miss the mark, Minnesota has plenty of fantastic coffee brands like Fiddlehead, Caribou, Due North Coffee Co. I worked at Caribou back in college, which definitely helped turn me into a mild coffee snob.

Load me up with a Jamaican Road Warrior from Moka, a Dark Chocolate Nitro Mocha from Caribou, or a caramel latte from Steam or Café Aqui, and I’m set for the day. But I can still appreciate a solid drip coffee (or even a K-cup) with some good creamer, especially on those chaotic weekday mornings.

When it comes to coffee, Americans aren’t shy with their opinions. And honestly, knowing what not to buy is just as important as finding your go-to blend. These are the brands getting roasted online (pun intended) for terrible reviews, bad flavor, questionable quality, and even a few ethical red flags.
