When asked, "If you could only have one food for the rest of your life," the most common answer in Minnesota is pizza. (Right behind lutefisk and White Castle sliders.)

The most popular pizza topping in America is pepperoni, but in Minnesota the answer is oddly barbeque chicken. (BTW, Kwik Trip has a great frozen one.)

How do you like your pizza? Deep dish? Thin & crispy? Hand tossed? Square or round? Red sauce or white? Detroit style, Chicago style, New York style, or even Minnesota style?

So the team at Yelp has dug in and digested all the reviews so far in 2024 to determine the Top-100 pizza spots in America. New York & California dominate the list, but they also have the biggest populations.

OK, so that's what they say the Top-Ten in America looks like. (Note: I love all pizza. Fresh, frozen, take & bake, homemade, specialty. You name it, I like it. As long as you don't put pineapple on it.)

Two Minnesota pizza joints made the 2024 Top-100 list. Survey says...

  • #79 - Surly Brewing, Minneapolis
  • #84 - Pizzeria Lola, Minneapolis

I know these kinds of surveys don't drill down to the smaller places that we live in across southern Minnesota, but I would like to recognize some of my personal favorites.

Eat, drink, and be merry my pizza lovin' peeps.
