It might be hard believe (especially this year) but the Labor Day holiday is upon us.  It's also interesting to note that Labor Day 2020 falls as late into the month of September as the holiday can go (the first Monday of the month this year is the 7th).

As is the case with holidays, the Public Works Department of the City of Superior is announcing their changes for both the garbage and recycling pickup schedule.  The actual day off for the city is Monday, September 7 - with offices, garages, and the municipal landfill closed in observance of the holiday.  That closure will affect the schedules for the remaining days of the week.

Accordingly, there won't be any garbage pickup on Monday, September 7.  Homeowners who usually have the garbage picked up on that day of the week should  have their canisters ready in the usual spots by 7:00 AM the following day (Tuesday).  All other residents are instructed to make sure their garbage canisters are in the proper place on the usual pickup date - however, the Public Works department cautions that their may be delays in the pickups as the work crews catch up.

As far as recycling goes, here are the plans.  While some holidays don't see any changes for the recycling collection, Labor Day 2020 will bring changes.  There will be no pickups on Monday; then - the schedule for the rest of the week will be delayed by one day.  Any questions regarding recycling should be directed to Hartels/DBJ - the contract vendor:  218-729-5446.
