It's the time of the year where homes start to get filled with decorations for the holiday season.  A lot of people just go to big box stores and purchase things like wreaths and table center pieces.  While that might be an easy way to get your decorations all in one place, you can get creative and make your own though all while supporting a good cause.

The Proctor Amateur Hockey Association is hosting an event to help raise funds for the local youth hockey programs.  It's on Sunday, November 15th, from 10:00AM-4:00PM in Superior at 821 Hammond Avenue.

It will be an open house style event where you can make and take a decoration of your choosing.  There will be the options of decorating a Christmas wreath, creating a porch pot, and also a Thanksgiving table center piece.  You can bring your family and friends as this will be a socially distanced event.

It's supported by the Duluth Flower Farm who sells wreaths for individual clients, wholesalers, fundraisers, and cemeteries.  So maybe skip the big box store decorations this year, or at least some of them and know that you are helping out a good cause.  It's a good year especially to help support local businesses and local programs since many have been impacted by the pandemic.
