Congratulations to Minnesota Timberwolves player Karl-Anthony Towns who won the 3 Point Contest at the NBA All-Star game this past weekend!

ORIGINAL POST: 2.18.21

Karl-Anthony Towns one of the stars of the Minnesota Timberwolves is now part of an elite team of athletes starring in State Farm commercials. Towns was born and raised in New Jersey and attended college in Kentucky going pro as the first overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

According to Wikipedia In his rookie season, Towns was one of two Timberwolves to earn NBA Rookie of the Month honors in four consecutive months. Fast forward to today and Towns has proven that he is an athlete to be reckoned with. Although the Timberwolves have enjoyed some mild success over the years it is nice to see a player of his caliber be recognized on this type of platform.

According to Bring Me The News KAT as he is referred to by fans and teammates alike will be starring in a new 30 second commercial for State Farm Insurance during the NBA's All-Star Weekend. The ad features State Farm regular "Jake from State Farm" Towns and video game streamer "Gold Glove."

No word yet on if this commercial will run in a regular rotation like the one featuring Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but either way this is a great opportunity for Towns to get in the national spotlight. To me it still seems like the Timberwolves are still a young team even though they were established way back in 1989. I even remember when they had a contest to name the team.

Look for Karl-Anthony Towns as a reserve player in his third appearance in the NBA All-Star Game this Sunday, February 20. Check out his new commercial below.
