Good news for Vikings fans as one of their star defensive players has reportedly worked out his contract issues with the team.

Danielle Hunter, who was out last season due to a neck injury, also had some frustrations with his contract with Minnesota. Because of this, some speculated he might not show up to the team's mandatory mini camp and could become a holdout.

It was reported earlier in the day on Monday that the pass rusher would be at the Vikings' mandatory mini camp, which starts Tuesday. Hunter had skipped Minnesota's organized team activities and other volunteer offseason team workouts earlier in the year. NFL Network analyst James Jones tweeted the news that Hunter would be at camp, though at that time it was unclear a reworked deal had been reached between he and Minnesota.

Just under three hours after Jones shared the news that Hunter would show up to camp, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport tweeted that the Vikings and Hunter had reached a deal, easing any tensions between he and the team ahead of offseason activities.

Rapoport went on to share the details of the reported deal, explaining that he is getting a nice signing bonus, which is $5.6 million of the money he would have earned as part of his contract this year. The redone contract creates an opportunity for Hunter to prove he's back to 100% after a season away, with the potential to earn a big payday in 2022 if the team decides to hold on to him.

For many Vikings fans (and the team), this offers the opportunity for a collective sigh of relief after a season where the team sorely missed his skillset on the defense. With whispers from some NFL experts and fans that Mike Zimmer is or should be finding himself on the coaching hotseat after missing the playoffs in 2020, you can guarantee Zim is very happy to have his star pass rusher back and ready to roll for 2021.
