New road construction projects continue to ramp up in Duluth and on Monday motorists can expect to see new projects that will impact both Decker and London Road.

According to the City of Duluth, on Monday October 5th, the intersection of Anderson and Decker Road will be closed to allow for the installation of new water mains. The City recommends that only local traffic use Anderson Road between Highway 53 and Haines Road as a through route will not be accessible to normal traffic.

Residents of Decker Road will be restricted to access from either Piedmont Avenue or Mall Drive. The detour route for Decker Road between Anderson and Piedmont will be changed to Haines Road. This portion of the revised detour will merge with the existing north detour route that terminates at Mall Drive. All told, the closure of Anderson Road is expected to be ended by October 19, at which time a new permanent roadway should be restored.

Another road project in Duluth beginning October 5 will impact motorists on London Road.

The City Of Duluth has announced they will be completing permanent patch work located at 4949 London Road. While northbound traffic will operate as normal, southbound traffic will be detoured from 47th Avenue East to 60th Avenue East back to London Road. This repair project is expected to be completed by the end of the day on  Friday, October 9.

As always, use caution while driving anywhere in the city and this is especially important around work zones, where workers are out on the road and are often in close proximity to your vehicle.
