Another Summer event in Duluth has been canceled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Annual Bayfront Reggae & World Music Festival has been canceled for this year. Janna Dreher who is Chief Manager of the Bayfront Reggae/ World Music Festival released the following statement:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Bayfront Reggae & World Music Festival is canceled on July 18th, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  We have been closely monitoring the guidelines from the State of Minnesota Department of Health and Governor Tim Waltz.   We had hoped to see a decline in new cases and a return to more normal state operations regarding the ability to hold large events.  Sadly, this has not been the case.  We care deeply for the health and safety of our loyal supporters and want to return when it is safe to do so.  We are planning for the event to be held in July 2021, with the exact date to be determined in the near future.  We will post this date as soon as it has been confirmed.  In the meantime, we are exploring virtual options with our network of performers and DJs. Please stay tuned to our websitefacebook, and twitter sites for any further updates.  We thank our fans, sponsors, vendors, performers, and business associates for supporting our event.  We cannot do this event without all of us and yes, we are all in this together.  Thank you for your understanding.

I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the festival organizers through the years and they are the most amazing and caring bunch of people you would ever be lucky enough to meet. We are so fortunate to have this amazing and diverse celebration of cultures and music every year right in our own backyard at beautiful Bayfront Festival Park. People from all over the country and artists from around the world all gather each Summer to celebrate with great music, food and camaraderie. Like many I am sad it won't be happening this year, but hold out hope it will be even bigger and better next year.
