If you fancy yourself a burger aficionado, you'll be happy to know that Burger King has brought back a feast of a burger from its recent past, but only for a limited time and in select locations.

Burger King originally introduced the Big King XL in 2019 as a way to battle the notorious Big Mac at McDonalds. Everyone knows from the song that the Big Mac features two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. The Big King XL is a little different.

Basically, the Big King XL provides a very similar taste experience only with more meat, featuring two quarter-pound patties of flame-grilled beef, and less bun as the middle bun featured on the Big Mac is not a part of this burger.

According to the Burger King website, the Big King features:

More than 1/2 lb* of flame-grilled 100% beef, topped with American cheese, sliced onions, zesty pickles, crisp lettuce and our special Stacker sauce all on a toasted sesame bun.

While that all sounds very good, the big question for burger fans across the Northland is will the Big King be available here? The answer is yes and you can get it right now.

I called the Hermantown Burger King and they confirmed that as of now, the burger is available to Royal Perks members through the Burger King mobile app or through BK.com.

They also verified that as of February 7, the Big King XL will be available to everyone in the Northland, regardless of if they're Royal Perks members or not. I asked how long it would be available and as of now there is not a set end date, they only know it won't be forever.

So, if you want one don't wait long. From past experience, it's a good burger and I appreciate the more meat, less bun combination as I would always pick out the middle bun from the Big Mac anyway. No offense, McDonalds, I do the same thing with club sandwiches.
