Wait!  Before you take one of those over-the-counter pain relievers or medications you bought from the dollar-style store, you might want to double-check this list.

Family Dollar has issued a widespread recall on a large amount of the over-the-counter medications sold at their stores nationwide - including Minnesota and Wisconsin.  The recall is not specific to Family Dollar store-brand or proprietary brands; in fact, the majority of the pain relievers and medications included are from well-known brand names.

The recall stems from the products included "being stored outside of labeled temperature requirements", according to details shared by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

The products being recalled were shipped to Family Dollar store locations "on or around May 1, 2022 through June 10, 2022".  Because the items were shipped already before the problem was noted, the recall effort goes all the way down to the retail store level.

Again, the over-the-counter pharmaceutical products included on the recall list are generally well-known, brand name products.  And, they run the gamut from aspirin and pain reducers to shampoo, toothpaste, lip balm, sunscreen, anti-perspirant, even dish soap.  Customers will recognize brand names like Colgate, Suave, Purell, Dulcolax, Motrin, Vicks, Crest, Dawn, Carmex, Dove, and more.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has the complete list of recalled products from Family Dollar posted on their website.  Click here to check it out.

At the present time, there have been no known reports of adverse affects or illness associated with the recalled products.  Family Dollar has notified their stores at the retail level to "check their stock immediately and to quarantine and discontinue the sale of any affected product".

Customers who believe that they have the recalled items in their possession may return them to the Family Dollar store from where they were purchased.  A receipt is not needed.
