Two Northland Golf Courses Featured In ’10 Unique Golf Holes In Minnesota’

Golf season is here! (Well at least in some parts of the state.) The early spring and lack of snow has allowed me to actually golf twice already by April 1st. That's never happened before!

We're getting excited for the 2024 golf season! I can't wait to get out and use my Northland Golf Card and hit up some of the Northland's best courses.

I saw recently that Explore Minnesota featured 10 unique holes across Minnesota. I was wondering if they would be featuring any of the courses from around here. We do really have some of the most beautiful courses in the state.

Hole 3 - The Legend At Giant's Ridge

Two holes at two different courses in the 218 area made the list. First, no surprise here - The Legend at Giant's Ridge made the cut. On hole #3's fairway, they have a sand trap shaped like a giant's footprint. I've had firsthand knowledge of hacking sand to get out of that bunker!

Black Bear Golf Course in Carlton Hole #7

Black Bear Casino's Golf Course in Carlton, Minnesota is really nice! Their hole #7 is a par 5, and this one has a footprint as well. This time it's a giant bear claw.

• Alexandria Golf Club has three greens in the shape of states on #7, #8, and # 17.
• Warroad Estates has a Minnesota-shaped green on hole #9.
• Baker National Golf Course has an old red barn in play on hole 1.
• Stoneridge Golf Club is another course with a "barn hole."
• Highland National Golf Course has a snoopy-shaped bunker
• Stonebrook Golf Club has a hole where you need to take a ferry to get to the landing area.
• Pine Beach East At Madden's has the only par 6 hole in Minnesota.
• Emily Greens Golf Course has the largest green in Minnesota.
