In the wake of the Duluth Harbor Monsters defending their championship title, winning ArenaMania II at the DECC Arena on August 9, Mayor Roger Reiniert hosted a public celebration of the team's back-to-back league championship victories.

The team shared a public invitation on their social media accounts earlier this week, welcoming fans and members of the media to the event, which was held in the Duluth City Hall Rotunda at noon on Friday, August 22.

The team's arena public address announcer, Brian Prudhomme, opened the ceremony, welcoming the Harbor Monsters with the same gritty vigor fans have heard during home games over the last two seasons.

Following the introduction, Mayor Reinert shared an official mayoral proclamation of the day being named "Duluth Harbor Monsters Day in the City of Duluth". His proclamation highlighted the team's near-perfect regular season record and their second straight league championship.

During Mayor Reinert's proclamation, he presented the team's general manager, Steve Walters, and head coach Tony O'Neil with a copy of the proclamation as well as a token coin to commemorate the team's accomplishments.

Walters then spoke about his great appreciation for the players on the field, the coaching staff, and the fans supporting and cheering the team on.

He touched on how excited he was about the concept of a team in Duluth in the earliest stages, even before it had a name and a logo, and how proud and thankful he is to have seen the players, coaches, and fans make the team and the name "Harbor Monsters" what it is today.

Coach O'Neil then thanked the fans for their support and the players for their focus on the task at hand through the season, before concluding his brief comments with "Here's to a threepeat!" as the crowd in attendance cheered.

After some members of the team, cheerleading squad, and city staff all posed for a photo, fans had the opportunity to congratulate the team and get photos.

While the schedule is not yet out for next year, fans can look forward to the 2026 season next summer. Townsquare Media Duluth's sports brand, the Northland FAN 106.5, is proud to be the audio home of the team. Since the team's inception, the FAN 106.5 has been providing on-air and online radio play-by-play coverage and player & coach interviews during other programming throughout the season.

We'll have more about the 2026 season as those details become available!
