Considering everything that's been going on in the world the last two months or so it's easy to lose track of what day it is.  For many, the fact that we're already at the Memorial Day holiday is surprising.  Memorial Day occurs this year on Monday, May 25.

As is the usual custom, there will be changes to the garbage and recycling pick up schedule for residents in the City of Superior.  The Superior Public Works Department will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.  This schedule chaneg will also affect the Municipal Landfill - which will also be closed.

Due to the closures, the weekly garbage pick up schedule will be altered in the following way:  Residents who normally get their garbage picked up on Monday should have their canister out to it's usual spot by 7:00 AM on Tuesday.  All other residents should plan to have their garbage out to it's usual spot by 7:00 AM on their normal day - however, they should anticipate some delays in the schedule as the collection crews catch up.

As far as recycling goes, the schedule will be delayed by one day during the holiday week. All recycling questions should be directed to Hartels/DBJ.  The phone number for their office is 217-729-5446.
