Updated Minnesota + Wisconsin Snowfall Totals From January 4-5, 2022 Storm

As expected, this week's snow event made for messy conditions across the Northland, making for slick roads across the region and heavy snow near portions of Lake Superior.

While the National Weather Service is saying there are still chances of snow into Wednesday evening in parts of the region, we are getting a picture of just how much snow fell. In some spots, it is quite a bit.

Ahead of the storm, the National Weather Service forecasted 4-6 inches of snow for the Twin Ports area, with similar or smaller amounts in areas away from the big lake in Minnesota. A few places across the North Shore were expected to see 6-8 inches, and the Wisconsin South Shore was predicted to be ground zero for heavy snow, with the forecast calling for areas of a foot or more thanks to Lake Superior enhancing the storm for that area.

Those forecasts held pretty accurate from numbers the National Weather Service is providing, with parts of Northwestern Wisconsin seeing anywhere from 8 inches all the way to 18 inches in Lake Nebagamon and a whopping 23 inches in Red Cliff!
