This comes after an increase of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the communities. Super One has said that the mask requirement is for stores in Duluth, Superior, Cloquet, Two Harbors, Pike Lake, and Michigan. They ask that the face masks cover the mouth and nose. If you do not have a face mask, they do sell single use masks for $1.

They do provide some exemptions for young children and people with health conditions. Children old enough to walk are required to wear masks, unless they are seated in the cart or being carried. Anyone with a medical condition that makes mask use difficult is exempt, as well as a mental condition. Those people that have hearing impairment or are communicating with someone hearing impaired is exempt as well.

Super One Foods has been posting CDC guidelines outside of their stores since the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic. Employees have been wearing masks since the start, and they have implemented other safety measure such as plastic dividers at checkouts. There have also been sanitizing wipes at cart stations. They have encouraged customers in the past with signage to wear masks, but now they are requiring it.

As of Monday, July 13th, there are currently 238 COVID-19 confirmed cases. Carlton County has 90 confirmed cases. Cook County has 1 confirmed case. Douglas county has also seen an increase of cases with 61 confirmed cases. St. Louis County and Douglas county particularly have seen a large increase in just the last several weeks.
