Superior Schools To Benefit From Stuff The Bus Campaign

Even as families sneak in a few more weeks of summer vacation fun, there is no ignoring the fact that fall and the next school year are quickly approaching.  Already store shelves have seen the shift from summer items to back-to-school supplies.

It's those back-to-school supplies that are the focus of a community event right now in Superior.

As they celebrate their one-hundredth year as a civic-minded group, the Head of the Lakes United Way is in the midst of a Stuff The Bus campaign for the Superior School District.  Now through August 23, organizers have set up drop off locations in a variety of different locations and are asking the community to show their support for the cause.

The event is one that hits all the bases for the non-profit.  In an article in the Superior Telegram [paywall], Head of the Lakes United Way President Matt Hunter shares:

"Education is one of our three impact focus areas at Head of the Lakes United Way.  Stuff the Bus helps students every year in our local communities by providing them with the tools they need to succeed."

All of the school supplies collected will be delivered directly to the Superior School District, where they will be distributed to students by school staff.

School supply donations of all kinds are welcome, but organizers have some specific "asks" in mind that they request the public keep in mind. Here is their list of "most-requested school supplies" - taken from their website:

• Erasers (pencil cap-style or larger pink ones)
• Face coverings
• Glue bottles

• Hand sanitizer

• Pencils - colored

To make drop off donations easier, the Head of the Lakes United Way has established a large list of sites where you can leave your back to school supplies.  Look for the donation boxes at the following sites in Superior:
