KBJR reports that according to a statement from the Collège of St. Scholastica has  added the COVID-19 Vaccine to be added to the list of other immunizations students are required to get at their Duluth, Health Science Center and St. Cloud campuses.

President Barbara McDonald has said previously that once FDA Approval was granted the college would pursue vaccine requirements. As of right now all students must provide a copy of their immunization record to the College’s Student Health Service office by October 22, 2021.

The school plans to release information in the future about who may qualify for exemptions. For any students choosing to be exempt from getting the vaccines they will be required to get weekly COVID-19 tests. On-campus vaccination clinics began on August 11 and will continue to be offered at the Duluth campus.

As of right now, along with The College Of St. Scholastica the UniversityBusiness.com released a list of the following private Colleges in Minnesota that require the COVID-19 Vaccine for students: Carleton College, College of St. Benedict, Gustavus Adolphus College, Hamline University, Macalester College, Minnesota College of Art and Design, Mitchell Hamline School of Law, St. Catherine University, St. John’s University, St. Olaf College, University of St. Thomas.

According to The Star Tribune: "Minnesota State Chancellor Devinder Malhotra sent a letter to presidents of the system's 30 community colleges and seven universities Wednesday August 18 detailing the updated vaccination guidance. The guidance applies to about 14,000 students who are living in housing owned or managed by a system college or university. It also applies to students participating in intercollegiate athletics or are involved in internships or clinical work."

Some of the colleges around the country are also requiring faculty to have COVID-19 vaccines as well, some are requiring the vaccine for students living on campus only, obviously this varies for all the different facilities. All of the State Universities in MN require weekly tests of students who are not vaccinated and will be offered for Free for those exempting themselves from getting the vaccine.  Obviously as a student you will need to be in contact with your College or University to find out specifics on what is required in order to be able to enroll in school, but it seems as a general rule they are all following these same guidelines.
