The NBA is going to restart the season, but not with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The NBA Board of Governors approved a proposal to resume play of the 2019 - 2020 season, but with only 22 teams. The teams had to be within 6 games of a playoff spot and with a record of 19-45 when the season was put on hold due to COVID-19, they weren't even close to making the cut.

Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas said in a statement, “While we are disappointed for our team and our fans that our season is coming to an end, we understand and accept the league’s plan to move forward with 22 teams. It is important that we be a good teammate not only to the NBA, but to the other 29 teams to support the efforts to complete this season and prepare for next season in a healthy and safe manner."

All the remaining NBA games will be played at the Disney Wolrd campus in Orlando, with teams arriving at the beginning of July to begin training and they will start playing games on July 31st. All games will be played at Disney World and players and families will also be staying on the Disney World property. The NBA Finals, which would have started this week, will now likely be played in October.
