The NCHC Frozen Faceoff Is Finally Coming Back To Minnesota
The National Collegiate Hockey Conference Frozen Faceoff is coming back to Minnesota! Covid-19 prevented the championship tournament from taking place at the Xcel Energy Center. It's now been announced that it will indeed return in March of 2022.
The 2020 Frozen Faceoff was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19. Last year in 2021, it was moved to the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
The conference unofficially begins the 2021-2022 season on Thursday, September 16 with media day at Xcel Energy Center. Fans can now renew their tickets to attend the NCHC's Frozen Faceoff in March.
If you had purchased all-session tickets in 2020 for the Frozen Faceoff which was cancelled, you now have the first opportunity to buy tickets to the 2022 championship and receive an e-mail from Xcel Energy Center with instructions on how to purchase 2022 tickets. You'll also have the chance to upgrade seat locations and buy extra tickets. However, this all must be done by Friday October 22.

The Xcel also reminds fans that if you renew those Frozen Faceoff tickets by October 22, you'll get discount pricing from the 2022 general on-sale price. They will announce price details or public tickets sometime before November 5. All session ticket packages will go on sale starting November 5 at ticketmaster.com. Those packages start at $65 and will feature two games for a semifinal game on Friday and Championship game on Saturday, March 18 & 19. As a bonus, those people who renew their tickets will have the opportunity to buy tickets to the Wild game that Saturday afternoon when they host the Chicago Blackhawks. That's not a bad deal to secure a spot!
Other events at the NCHC include Fan Fest that happens before each game. There is also the fan skate, and NCHC Awards Celebration that take place on March 17 at the Xcel.
