The World Beer Cup is the largest beer competition in the world, with more than 10,000 entries from nearly 2500 breweries across 57 countries. Earth Rider Brewery was one of two Northland Craft Breweries to bring home the gold. Their North Tower was named the 2022’s World Beer Cup gold medal winner in the oatmeal stout category.

The North Tower Stout is one of the first beers they had ever made and is also one of their most popular ones as well, especially in the winter. Director of brewing operations for Earth Rider Brewery Frank Kaszuba said to FOX 21: “I think we’re producing world class beers and that’s certainly being validated through this process. We’re truly lucky too, the biggest ingredient we use is water and people overlook that sometimes and the water we have here is phenomenal for brewing."

Earth Rider Brewery is located at 1617 North Third Street In Superior Wisconsin.  They have become a place known for some great live music in the Cedar Lounge and when the weather is warm enough they have a rather large outdoor space as well. They also have food trucks parked outside during events.

Also a big Congratulations to a Minnesota Brewer Bent Paddle Brewing who picked up two awards. They won a bronze for their Bent Hop in the International IPA category, and gold for Altbear which is in the German-style Altbier category. Both of these are served in their Taproom if you want to try them out.

Bent Paddle is located at 1832 West Michigan Street in Duluth which has now exploded into the "Craft Beer District" of Duluth. Bent Paddle has been brewing here since 2013 and is definitely considered a Northland Staple.
