Vikings WR Touchdown Dance Finally Added to Popular Video Game
It's one of the, if not the, most popular celebration dances in the NFL and it's finally being added to the most popular (and only) NFL video game.
'The Griddy' was made popular by Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson and it will finally be added to the latest edition of the hugely popular Madden NFL football game from EA. Madden 23 drops on August 19th and will be available on Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
The Griddy was invented by Allen Davis, he was a friend of Jefferson's former LSU teammate and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase. Chase and Jefferson shared the dance with the rest of the team and eventually, it caught fire around the world after Jefferson did the Griddy after a touchdown in 2019.
Madden isn't the first video game to feature The Griddy, it was also added to FIFA 23, but Fortnite was the first video game to add the popular dance to their game. I can't believe it took Madden this long to add the dance to the game.
The Griddy seems like a pretty easy dance to do, I have yet to master it though, but basically, you just tap your heels alternating between left and right foot, add the 'Bs" or OK symbol with your hands, and put them on your eyes. Now add some swinging arms and you'll be doing The Griddy in no time. Here is a tutorial so you can try it for yourself.
Madden 23 will feature its namesake on the cover for the first time in a long time, John Madden will be honored with the cover after he passed away in December of 2021.
