Wessman Arena COVID-19 Vaccination Site Reopens July 20
With the ongoing efforts to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to as many people as possible, Douglas County Public Health officials have decided to reopen the Community COVID Vaccine Clinic at Wessman Arena in Superior starting Tuesday, July 20. The clinic is open to the general public with no appointments necessary.
There are a few changes to the procedure this time around at the Wessman Arena site - namely with dates. The new ongoing schedule (at least for the time being) has slots open as follows:
- Tuesday's - from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Friday's - from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
People coming to get their COVID-19 vaccine have their choice of one of two different offerings: The Wessman Arena site will offer the one dose (single dose) Johnson & Johnson vaccine to people 18-years of age and older; meanwhile, the two dose Pfizer vaccine will be available for anyone 12 years of age and older. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to receive their shot(s).
The Wessman Arena clinic is located at 2701 Catlin Avenue - on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Superior; there is a large parking lot at the corner of Catlin Avenue and 28th Street.
