What Common Disinfectants Will Kill Coronavirus?
According to health experts and the Center for Disease Control it's not a question of "if" but "when" in regards to the spread of the so-called Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States. The growing number of infected individuals continues to grow and fluctuate around the globe on an daily (almost hourly) basis.
While officials are warning people not to panic, they are also suggesting that people get educated on techniques to control exposure and the spread. Many of the suggestions border on common sense (i.e. avoid handshakes, wash your hands, stay home if you're feeling sick, etc). One question that quickly comes to mind for a lot of people though is what can be used to "kill" the virus on the surfaces of their homes or office; in other words - what disinfectants can be used to battle COVID-19?
The answer is surprisingly - many. In fact, most commonly-available, store-bought disinfectants are successful at killing the COVID-19 virus on surface areas. To offer additional guidance, the American Chemistry Council's Center for Biocide Chemistries has compiled a list of brand-names to help American consumers. Once again, you'll find most commonly-available disinfectants on the list - but it never hurts to double-check your favorite or the bottle in the cupboard. Click here to see the full list.
