ST. PAUL, MN (AP) -- Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba has been fined $5,000 for slashing Vegas Golden Knights forward Ryan Reaves.

The NHL's Department of Player Safety announced the punishment. It's the maximum allowable amount under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Dumba hit Reaves with his stick in the midsection in the first period of the game on Tuesday night.
