The annual local Film Festival won't be canceled, just enjoyed and attended differently this year and you don't have to leave your home.

KBJR TV is reporting that the Zeitgeist Zinema is going to hold the "Twin Ports Shorts Film Festival" online rather than at the movie theater this year. The report goes on to say that there will be 9 film shorts this year featuring local filmmakers.

According to the Zeitgeist Facebook page, some of the filmmakers featured will be Wyatt Buckner, Brandon Cole, Sam Weston, Adrianna Buckner, Nick Hansen, Bodhi Werner, Emily Sue, and Zinema programmer Matt Dressel.

Usually, these are shown in the Zinema, and sometimes other theaters like the Norshor, but because of the social distancing, they will be online. This is also a fundraiser for the Zeitgeist Zinema to help with operating costs for the website and theater. It will cost $5 to live stream the movies which are the fundraising part.

People will be able to share their comments in a chat room just like if you were at the theater. I wonder if you can tell people to be quiet? Matt Dressel told KBJR that it will not be disruptive to the enjoyment of the movie. This is a great way in my opinion to show the movies, get comments and still run the festival

The "Twin Ports Shorts Film Festival"  begins Friday, May 15th at 7 p.m.

You can buy tickets on the Zeitgeist website.
