It has been a long 6 months for the owners and employees of Canal Park Brewing Company as they remained closed during the pandemic, but fortunately they have now reopened their doors and are ready for locals and tourists to return. The timing for the brewery seems on pace with other businesses in Canal Park as they continue to open as well.

Addison Memmel is the General Manager at Canal Park Brewing and she said to FOX21:

It’s been really awesome just to have the energy back in the building and beer on tap and the kitchen fired up for the first time in what, like 6 months? We’re excited to bring another fixture to Canal Park back. We’re kinda the first place you see when you come over the bridge and really just wanna get people back out here on the patio and enjoy the atmosphere.

Even though the actual building has been closed the employees have been hard at work. Part of the reason for them to stay closed as long as they did was to regroup and make sure that their facility was super clean and sanitized, and also some physical structures were put into place to protect the employees and customers as well.

For any of the businesses in Canal Park that area is the heart of the city for tourists and locals alike and with events coming back to Bayfront and the DECC it is a win win for everybody. Even as a local and casual observer I have definitely seen an increase in tourists the last few weeks and it is a welcome change. Now hopefully the pandemic will slow down, people will continue to wear masks, socially distance from each other and we will have beautiful weather. Bring it Summer!
