Dalvin Cook Only the Third Viking to Score 4-TDs in a Game
Dalvin Cook put the Vikings on his back yesterday and carried them to a win in Green Bay with 4 touchdowns and 163 yards total. He also joined some rare air being only the 3rd Viking to have a 4-TD game.
Cook joins Chuck Foreman who did it in 1975, and Ahmad Rashad who ripped off 4-TDs in 1979. In over 40 years, no other Viking has accomplished that feat, incredible.
That wasn't the only accomplishment yesterday, Elias Sports Bureau research says that Cook is the first player to score on the first four possessions of a game since the merger in 1970.
But wait, that's not all. Cook joins Barry Sanders, Walter Payton and Adrian Peterson as the only players with multiple games with at least 150 rushing yards against the Pack. The Best stat yet.
The Vikings go to 2-5 and remain in last place in the NFC North with the 28-22 win against Arron Rodgers and the Packers, in which Cook handled 30 carries and caught two passes for 63 yards, one of those a career long 50-yard catch.
The Vikings are back in action Sunday at noon against the Detroit Lions, who are 3-4 on the season. The Packers may have been looking ahead to their next game too much yesterday, they play the 49ers on Thursday night in California.
