Original story: June 23, 2020

Because of COVID-19 things will be different in Superior, but the Fireworks celebration will remain. Here are all the things to know to navigate on our nation's Birthday.

Instead of the Dennis VanAlstine Memorial Car Show, there is the Superior 4th of July Cruise. The cruise will allow anyone with a motor vehicle of any sort to drive and tour Superior while making stops then eventually ending at the Superior Fairgrounds to enjoy the fireworks. They will start at the Mariner Mall Parking lot at 6 pm. There will be a chance to win prizes. If you want more info follow this link.

There's also the Great Lakes Border Battle at Gondik Law Speedway wrapping up its last day of racing. On July 4th the pits open at 4, the Grandstands open at 5, and Racing gets started at 7 pm. For more info contact chris@FYEmotorsports.com

Here is an updated list of free parking at these businesses after their normal business hours on July 4th:

KOOL 101.7 will be celebrating the 80s, with an Awesome 80’s 4th of July Party Weekend, then starting at 10 pm KOOL 101.7 has the official soundtrack for the 4th of July Fireworks in Superior. When the Fireworks are over, KOOL will resume the Awesome 80’s 4th of July Party Weekend all night.
