The Minnesota Vikings have hopefully ended their kicker drama for the next several seasons by signing current kicker Dan Bailey to a three-year contract extension.

According to StarTribune.com:

Bailey, entering his 10th NFL season, enjoyed a rebound last season while eclipsing 93% conversion on field goals for the fourth time in his career (NFL best is 93.8%). He was also a three-time NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

The three-year deal matches the length of the contract signed by punter/holder Britton Colquitt.  The tandem paired for the NFL’s fourth-ranked field goal team last season, so hopefully that settles that crucial part of the Vikings special teams unit moving forward.

The Vikings can now focus on free agency and the upcoming draft to improve their secondary, offensive line and wide receiver positions.
