The Minnesota Vikings will add the 26th person added to the prestigious Ring of Honor.

The team surprised Kevin Williams with the honor at TCO Performance Center on Wednesday, with team Owner/President Mark Wilf telling him with Qwner/Chairman Zygi Wilf and General Manager Rick Spielman.

Williams played 13 seasons in the NFL, 11 of those with the Minnesota Vikings, between 2003 - 2013 he played in 171 regular-season games for the Vikings, made 685 career tackles, the fifth-most among Minnesota defensive linemen, he also ranks eighth in tackles for a loss with 75.5.

You think that's impressive, Williams made 60 sacks as a Viking, that's tied for ninth-most in team history, he nabbed five interceptions, two of them returned for touchdowns, eight forced fumbles and 13 fumble recoveries, and two of them were returned for touchdowns. Those are impressive numbes when you're also playing with players like Jared Allen and the other half of the 'Williams Wall', Pat Williams.

The six-time Pro Bowler said after finding out about the honor, "My emotions are kind of everywhere. I don't like surprises, really, so I'm kind of at a loss for words, but the Vikings raised me, a young kid from Oklahoma State and Arkansas. I had to grow up. I bleed Purple. I still cheer for these guys every week."

Williams wrapped up his career with the Seahawks and Saints after the Vikings moved on after the 2013 season. Kevin still participates in football by coaching his kids' sports teams. An official ceremony will happen at some point this season at U.S. Bank Stadium.
